Closing Day
Today was the day - the day we sat down with our real estate agent, the lady selling the house, her real estate agent, and a closing attorney. There's no escrow in Georgia, or rather, escrow is used for an entirely different purpose after the purchase. In Georgia, we sign a few papers, the seller signs a few papers, and the check and the title switch sides of the table. And that's what they did!
We now have a bunch of paperwork, a survey of the property, and a set of keys to our new house! Of course, we can't use them until the 20th, since we gave the seller a week to move out. Kim and I are both pretty excited, but I'm sure we'll be especially excited when we start moving into a big, empty house!
Yay!
